Last year I climbed into my tangerine 1975 VW Campervan with my trusty co-pilot Riggins and headed West to take shots of the shoreline. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between a close up shot of a seaside detail from something that might have been taken high in the sky. I roamed from West Cork to North Sligo, and then – confined by a five-kilometre lock down – I took to the hills of Wicklow… and I began to notice similarities in shape and pattern. The sandstone and limestone of the coast became the granite of the hills; seaweed became moss, lichen changed hues.
So a comparison emerged: Hill left, Coast right.
